Being Surrounded by waves.

 While we were spending time at the ocean and my gaze was set on this beautiful handiwork of God. My heart was drawn to different emotions and Bible verses. I was first reminded about James 1:6: “Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.”  

Holy Spirit prompted the following question in my heart. When I pray, do I pray and ask without hesitation and doubt, or do I wander if God truly wants to answer me? Often when we ask, do we ask as victims? While God called us to be His children in victory. The question is, are we allowing satan to toss us around with doubt about the Trinity, ourselves, and the ability of God through us. Or do we enable Holy Spirit to give us faith which is unmovable and unshakable? 

These questions allowed me to zoom out and pray:” Holy Spirit help me to ask with a heart filled with faith. Help me to pray with an unwavering heart and mind. Lord Jesus increase faith in my heart, so that my life can please You. Let my eyes be completely fixed on You and not on the waves from this world. Lord today I pray that I will not be tossed around by this world and my circumstances. Be my Rock and my Firm Foundation. In Jesus Name I pray Amen. 

I want to encourage you today if you feel tossed around by the waves of this world or are struggling emotionally. Just take a moment and refocus yourself asking the Lord to fix your eyes on Him. It is important to remember without faith we can’t please God (Heb 11:6) and if we ask with a doubtful heart the Word of God says we will be tossed around. If you are struggling to have faith in your circumstances, ask Holy Spirit to help you with faith.  Matthew 7:7 says: “Ask and unto you shall be given” so if we ask for faith, God will not hesitate to give it to us. 

Go today walk by faith and know that you are a child of the King of kings, therefore victory is yours.
